The Suzuki World Rally Team, also known as the Suzuki WRC Challenge, was Suzuki ‘s factory backed World Rally Championship team, as part of the Suzuki Sport organization. The team debuted for the first time at the 2007 Tour de Corse in France. [4] After just one full season in 2008, in which the team finished fifth in the manufacturers’ championship, Suzuki announced that they would be pulling.. SR75 World Team Suzuki has applied its off-road racing experience and expertise to the new V-Strom 800DE to create a new Rally Edition, which it plans to race later this season.
Suzuki World Rally Team fue el equipo oficial con el que compitió Suzuki en el Campeonato Mundial de Rally durante las temporadas 2007 y 2008. Tenía su sede en Esztergom, Hungría y era gestionado por el departamento deportivo de Suzuki: Suzuki Sport.
El equipo debutó en el Rally de Córcega de 2007, y tan solo disputaron la prueba francesa y el Rally de Gran Bretaña, con Nicolas Bernardi primeramente y con Sebastian Lindholm posteriormente. En 2008, la marca japonesa ficha a Toni Gardemeister y Per-Gunnar Andersson, el equipo realizó la temporada completa obteniendo dos quintos puestos como mejores resultados, en Japón y Gran Bretaña.
